Arise by INFINITAS and Google Cloud partner to aid open innovation
Fri, 2nd Jun 2023

At the Google Cloud Bangkok Summit 2023, Arise by INFINITAS, the FinTech company, announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to accelerate its development of an Open Platform that will enable financial inclusion and deliver other essential services. Under the expanded collaboration, Arise by INFINITAS and Google Cloud are working together to equip individuals in Arise’s technology talent incubator with specialized digital skills, so they can apply cutting-edge technology to help address the diverse needs of all Thais.

The expanded collaboration will build on the success of Infinitas launching mobile applications Pao Tang and Tung Ngern during the pandemic, with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) playing an important role in getting these applications into the hands of 30 million Thai consumers and many small business owners and enterprises.

“Google Cloud’s dynamic autoscaling capabilities and developer-friendly tools truly came to the fore when our teams were working remotely and tasked with spinning up applications for administering financial assistance. The Pao Tang mobile application now has over 30 million users – a significant milestone. Arise is now collaborating with Google Cloud to transform Pao Tang into an Open Platform. The goal of this move is to provide all Thais with an enhanced customer experience and inclusive access to financial services. Furthermore, Pao Tang will offer third-party lifestyle products for improving users’ quality of life. Google Cloud’s leadership in open source, sustainability, and nurturing a future-ready workforce will support the co-creation of the innovation ecosystem that is needed to achieve our company’s vision,” says Jakkrit Klinsmith, Chief Executive Officer, Arise by Infinitas.

As part of its efforts to attract and retain top talent and nurture a company culture that embraces creativity and collaboration, Arise by INFINITAS has adopted Google Workspace to complement its flexible work arrangements.

Google Workspace allows Arise by INFINITAS's employees to contribute and communicate securely, regardless of their location or device preference.

To provide Arise's partner network access to specialized skills and expertise, Google Cloud is collaborating with Arise by Infinitas to run training and certification programs for graduates and mid-career professionals. To supercharge co-innovation, the goal is to cultivate a talent pool with deep proficiency in cutting-edge technology to support Thailand's digital economy. Arise by INFINITAS is a joint venture between Thai financial technology company INFINITAS by Krungthai, and Accenture Solutions, and was established in December 2021 to bridge digital skills gaps in Thailand's financial sector and help establish the country as an international hub for world-class fintech talent.

“APIs and a vibrant talent ecosystem are crucial components for driving innovation at scale, enabling an organization and its network of partners to develop new experiences for end-users rapidly and cost-effectively. Through its API-first strategy and workforce development initiatives, Arise is facilitating the creation of digital products and services that can reach a diverse range of people to help them improve their financial wellness and get closer to meeting their life goals. We look forward to supporting Infinitas’ efforts to better serve the unbanked and underbanked, while it scales for growth and empowers the workforce of the future,” adds April Srivikorn, country manager for Thailand at Google Cloud.
